One of the meaningful experiences I have had with art may be when I went to see a Broadway show for the first time in my memory. The stage itself was wondrous, with its shapes and shadows. The lights dimmed, and the music flew in- racing, dancing, rising and falling. It rolled like thunder throughout the room. I could feel it. It was like nothing else I'd encountered before. Then the players leaped and danced onto the stage- that was when the play began. From the life of the music to the movements of the players and the stage itself, it was stunning.
I really like how your meaningful art experience was a Broadway show, I hadn't even taken that type of art into consideration when I chose mine. I really appreciate how you described the scenery with such bright and vivid details, it made it possible to imagine your experience, and while Broadway plays are not always my cup of tea I really like how we can all appreciate different things.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Dillon, I really do like how your meaningful experience was a Broadway show. There is so much that goes into producing shows like that, it's a wonder how people can walk away from them. I like how shows like that incorporate musical art, as well as the art of form, dance, et cetera. I wonder if any of the Broadway shows you attend in the future will hold a light to the first one.
ReplyDeleteI also agree with Dillon and Quinn and think it's cool how you chose your most meaningful experience of art to be something unexpected like a broadway show. I've never been to broadway, but I can only imagine how amazing it is. Everyone on broadway is so talented and what they do is an artwork in itself.
ReplyDeleteJust like I posted on another one of my comments, I think its so amazing that something like a performance like this can have such an impact on ones life. Like the above commenter, I have not ever been to Broadway. But I would absolutely love to go one day in hopes of being truly amazed by it like you have been!
